Back from my weekend away!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am home from my weekend away. I have several print fabrics here that arrived and I'm busy this week cutting and stitching. I might be slightly slower than I anticipated this week and would be ever so grateful for your patience if you are waiting on cutom work from me. I updated my list today. I accidentally broke my toe the day of my brothers wedding which has been pretty painful and makes me a little slower on my feet when standing to cut, however the good news is that it is on my left foot and I sew with my right so I will be moving along as quickly as I can on these bags. Thanks everyone!
Oh and a huge welcome to one of my best friends who has this weekend become my sister! I love you Jamie, welcome to our family and thank you for loving my brother!

Lisa's knitting messenger bag
This is a custom ordered knitting bag in the messenger style for Lisa. It has a total of 5 exterior pockets and 5 interior pockets and is made of a heavy weight canvas material she sent to me. I added heavy interfacing so the bag is able to stand alone as well as heart shaped decorative stitching :)

Inspiration strikes and I choose the path less travelled...
In the course of our journeys so many of us find ourselves choosing the well worn path of doing what we feel we "should" do...I have decided to let my creativity flow like a quiet steam, at times full to the point of flooding and other times like a trickle over dry river rock struggling to maintain the flow. The great many twists and turn enchant me as I realize that though I've seen these parts before, my water is new, cooled by the crisp autumn air and ready to carry the fallen leaves to destinations unknown. These days the path less travelled is that of allowing creativity to be my guide and not doing what I "should" but living in each moment and creating beautiful things meant to be enjoyed both by she who creates them and those to whom they find their way. I feel blessed to allow myself to create as the inspiration strikes and to indulge some of my own fantasies of creating things both whimsical and beautiful full of both form and function. I can't wait to share with you the joy in creating something we are both sure to love!

Summer's About Over
Well the kids are back in school so our house has gone from 4 kids at home to 2 kids at home and mom's house has gone all the way down to zero kids at home!
So we're well into the 2nd official week of school now and Jack is still adjusting to it becuase he does whine a little when the kids leave in the morning. Gone are the lazy days of going down to the river and splashing in the cool water where it's shallow enough for Jack to lay in the water and watching the kids marvel at the river rocks in their many shapes and colors. On now to days of learning and inquisitive minds asking questions and thinking ahead to the cool air the Fall will bring as the trees prepare to let their withered leaves fall. Gone are the collections of pebbles and soon to come are the collections of "crispy" leaves as my daughter calls them.
Soon Jack's new haircut will begin growing back to it's longer length for the winter and I might just have to get him a sweater too. Ahhh....Summer is about over.
So where is our creative focus at Jack and Journey now you ask??
oh and the kids just started Soccer season!
